Noah Glover’s recruitment has entered a more defined phase.
The 2027 Virginia linebacker released a Top 6 earlier this month, trimming a lengthy offer sheet down to Notre Dame, Georgia, Miami, Oregon, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.
“I just really liked them,” Glover said of his top schools. “I’ve been to pretty much all the campuses and they are very nice. I liked the coaching staffs and I can just see myself fitting there.”
The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder visited Notre Dame for the Texas A&M game last September and will return March 21 for Junior Day.
Notre Dame’s hiring of linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary strengthened the Irish’s position.
“I liked Coach BJ a lot at Michigan,” Glover said. “Then he transferred over to Notre Dame. I already originally liked Notre Dame a lot. I’ve been there and it had a nice campus and the culture there just seemed next level. The atmosphere seemed really good.”
Jean-Mary’s addition was a positive development for the Irish’s pursuit of Glover.
“He’s cool,” said Glover. “He’s a good coach. He’s really hard on his players, but he’s definitely going to coach you to be as good as you can be.”
Head coach Marcus Freeman has also remained involved.
“I know Coach Freeman, he’s a great dude,” Glover said. “It’s just a school I want to learn more about.”
The Haymarket, Va., native said communication picked up quickly once Jean-Mary arrived.
“Coach BJ followed me and Coach Freeman had been having conversations with me,” Glover said. “It’s just a lot of the guys we’ve been having conversations with there.”
When he returns to South Bend, the focus will be on deeper evaluation.
“Just see the campus, have more conversations with the coaches, see how the players are,” he said.
Glover expects to visit each of his Top 6 schools this spring. He is targeting June for a final decision but is not locking himself into further cuts yet.
“Maybe,” he said when asked about narrowing further. “I’m not quite sure about that yet.”
When it is time to choose, the decision will center on fit.
“Definitely the family, the culture, the coaching for sure.”
