2027 Notre Dame Edge Target Abraham Sesay Talks Visits, Top Schools
Abraham Sesay is taking serious steps to move his recruitment forward.
The 2027 Pennsylvania edge defender recently released a Top 6 of Notre Dame, Duke, Florida State, Miami, Penn State and South Carolina as he prepares for a critical run of spring visits.
“Really just where I was able to build really great relationships and where I see my values aligning,” Sesay said of the group.
The Downingtown East standout said narrowing the field has already brought clarity.
“It’s really good just to relieve some stress and be able to dial in and focus on the primary schools where I feel like I’m going to be able to play for the next three to four years,” he said.
The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder has already visited Duke and now has trips scheduled to South Carolina on March 21, Florida State on March 28 and Miami on April 10. He will return to Notre Dame for the Blue-Gold Game April 25.
Beyond those schools, LSU remains involved despite not cracking the Top 6. Sesay is planning an April 5 trip to Baton Rouge.
“I’m just going to see (defensive line coach Sterling) Lucas and see how he coaches,” he said. “Just being able to get down there to another SEC school and see what it’s really about.”
Notre Dame continues to resonate because of its balance.
“They have a great combination of education and football,” Sesay said. “You’re able to get the best of both worlds. Notre Dame is Notre Dame.”
He has also developed a strong bond with defensive line coach Charlie Partridge quickly.
“I’ve built a pretty good relationship with Coach Partridge,” Sesay said. “I feel like that’d be great.”
When he returns to South Bend, he’ll be trying to get an even better idea of how Partridge operates.
“I just want to be able to see how Coach Partridge coaches and how the guys are doing and how the younger guys are fitting in,” he said. “I went for a game, so it’d be great to see how they practice and how they get after it.”
This spring is about getting a feel for what fits him best.
“Really just to get down to all these schools and really evaluate and see how I align,” Sesay said. “See how their scheme fits, their culture and their education portion.”
After this round of visits, Sesay plans to lock in official visits and move toward a decision.
“Taking my OVs and then after taking my OVs, just really being able to make a decision from there.”
