2027 LB Noah Renes Impressed By Notre Dame Trip
Noah Renes came away from last weekend’s visit to Notre Dame with a strong impression as the Irish continue to evaluate the 2027 Florida linebacker.
Renes made his way to South Bend last week, getting an up-close look at the program as Notre Dame continues building a relationship.
“It was great,” he said. “I really enjoyed it. We got to sit in meetings, talk with the coaches, meet Coach (Marcus) Freeman, watch practice and tour campus.”
The Niceville High School standout holds offers from schools like Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Indiana, Virginia Tech, Baylor, Boston College, Duke, Illinois, Kansas State, Louisville, Minnesota, NC State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, UCF, Virginia, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Wisconsin among others.
Renes does not yet hold an offer from Notre Dame, but the mutual interest appears genuine as the staff continues its evaluation.
“They’re coming to see me in the spring and watch me practice,” Renes said. “Hopefully that leads to an OV.”
The Niceville, Fla., native also spent time with linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary during the visit, getting a better sense for how the position group operates.
“It was great getting to sit in on the position meeting,” Renes said. “Just being around the coaches and seeing how they teach.”
The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder came away particularly impressed with Freeman and the overall feel of the program.
“You could tell he was very genuine with everything he was saying,” Renes said.
Practice also stood out, especially the balance between tempo and attention to detail.
“They were efficient with everything,” Renes said. “They went over film after practice just to make sure everything was balanced.”
The Emerald Coast defender also came away with a strong sense of the campus environment during his time in South Bend.
“The campus was beautiful,” Renes said. “It’s probably one of the best campuses I’ve seen so far.”
Renes has been active on the spring visit circuit, making stops at Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Virginia, South Carolina and Louisville, with a trip to Mississippi State coming up next.
As the process continues to evolve, he has a loose framework in place for how things could unfold.
“I want to narrow my list. There could be some other teams that jump in during the spring, but the plan is to take my OVs and hopefully commit sometime around late June.”
