Jalen Haralson and Markus Burton leaving the Notre Dame program didn’t come as a surprise to Irish fans. Still, it doesn’t make the outlook any better, especially when two in-state players, including a rare South Bend native, head elsewhere for greener pastures.

And “greener” is the reality of today’s game. Both are likely to earn more than Notre Dame’s entire 2026–27 roster combined. You can’t blame them.
