2028 QB Lukas Prock "Super Fired Up" About Notre Dame Offer
Notre Dame doesn’t hand out quarterback offers lightly.
That’s why the one Lukas Prock picked up last week meant so much.
The 2028 New Jersey signal-caller picked up an offer from Irish quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli on Friday, becoming just the third quarterback in the class to earn one from Notre Dame at this stage of the process joining Florida’s Neimann Lawrence and Alabama’s Kingston Preyear.
“It was awesome,” Prock told Irish Sports Daily. “Coach Gino came out on Friday, evaluated me while I was throwing, and then we went into one of my coaches’ offices and were talking it up for a little bit and then he offered me.”
The offer didn’t come out of nowhere.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder has already made multiple trips to South Bend and had been on the radar for months, giving both sides a strong understanding of where things stood before the Irish made their move.
That familiarity showed up in the message.
“He likes my style of play,” Prock said. “I can extend the play, but also sit in the pocket and deliver the ball. He said he just likes me overall and can see me fitting at a place like Notre Dame. I kind of feel similar.”
That mutual fit helped make the moment stand out even more.
“I was super fired up,” he said. “That one is very special because Notre Dame doesn't really offer many kids. I think I was maybe the third kid to be offered in the 2028 class, so that means a ton.”
The Hun School standout sees that selectivity as part of what makes Notre Dame unique, both on and off the field.
“I think it's just a special place overall,” Prock said. “The academics speak for itself, but I think overall it's a special place. It’s so different than any other place I've been to. Everybody's just so locked in. Everybody has one goal in mind. Everybody's like-minded.”
With the offer now in hand, the next step is building on that foundation.
Prock is planning a return trip to South Bend in June to spend more time with the staff and get an even better feel for the program.
“I think I'm going to make a trip out there in June,” he said. “Just to get more comfortable with the staff and even more with the people there and see how comfortable I really feel.”
He is also hoping to visit schools like Texas, Penn State and Ohio State. His decision timeline that could stretch into the winter, but he isn’t ruling out making a decision sooner if he feels right.
When that time comes, the criteria is already clear.
“I think relationships with the coaching staff and everybody there is the biggest part,” Prock said. “Then how I would fit into the scheme and what the depth chart would look like.”
From a scheme standpoint, Notre Dame checks that box as well.
“I’m looking for something that’s not run-first. Play-action, drop-backs, RPOs, more of a pro-style offense. I see a lot of that in Notre Dame.”
