Recruit and develop. Those have been consistent themes with program building since they started playing big time college football.

Retain is newer since the start of the NIL and transfer portal era. It doesn’t matter if you can recruit talent if you don’t retain it and if you don’t retain it, you can’t develop it.

Notre Dame is currently doing as good of a job as any program in those three areas.
