Few schools can offer exactly what Abraham Sesay is looking for.
That's one reason Notre Dame has remained near the top of the 2027 Pennsylvania edge rusher's recruitment for months.
The Irish will look to capitalize on that position when Sesay returns to South Bend this weekend for his official visit.
The Downingtown East High School standout has already taken an official visit to LSU and still has Florida State on the schedule for next weekend. Notre Dame's opportunity arrives at a critical point in the process as Sesay moves closer to a summer decision.
"Definitely going to be a great visit," Sesay told Irish Sports Daily. "Just being able to go back to campus and be able to talk to some more players for a longer time and really get to spend more time with everybody."
The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder has consistently pointed to Notre Dame's unique combination of academics and athletics as one of the biggest reasons the Irish have stayed near the top of his board.
"Just really their combination of education and football," Sesay said. "Having that Notre Dame brand and being able to play for that with a long history and a long tradition and great moral values as well. That would be a great place to be able to play."
Notre Dame's pitch hasn't changed much throughout the process.
The difference this weekend is that Sesay is no longer trying to learn about the structure of the program. He's trying to determine whether the people inside it are the right fit.
"Just being able to talk to players to see if I really fit with them," Sesay explained. "Seeing if I fit with those players and how they operate, if they're playing football for the right reasons and if they have the right values and to see if those values match with mine."
That emphasis on culture and relationships has been a recurring theme throughout Sesay's recruitment.
It's also one reason Notre Dame has been viewed as such a strong contender.
The Pennsylvania native recently opened official visit season at LSU and came away impressed.
"LSU was amazing," Sesay said. "They really set the bar and it was just a really good visit to go on.
"Just them being able to really show me the opportunity they have for me there. The reason behind me playing in the SEC and just their plan for me."
While LSU clearly made an impression, Notre Dame enters the weekend with significant momentum built over multiple visits and months of relationship-building.
The Irish will now have the chance to show Sesay how their vision compares to what LSU presented.
Sesay doesn’t have any plans to make a snap decision, but hasn’t ruled it out either.
"If I feel like the time is right and the place is right, I won't hesitate to commit," he said. "But the plan is to go through my visits and be able to make a decision from there."
With only Notre Dame and Florida State remaining on his official visit schedule, Sesay is clearly entering the final phase of his recruitment.
