The recruiting process may be over for Isaiah Rogers‍, but the relationship-building is really just getting started.

The 2027 Massachusetts running back spent his official visit to Notre Dame this past weekend strengthening bonds with Marcus Freeman, the Irish coaching staff and fellow commits while getting a closer look at what life will be like once he arrives in South Bend.

"It was good," Rogers told Irish Sports Daily.

The Springfield Central High School standout spent the weekend alongside fellow Notre Dame commits, current players and coaches while experiencing many of the traditions and settings that make the program unique.

"We did pretty much everything," Rogers said. "Hung out with the players, hung out with the guys. Went over Coach Freeman's house, hung out there, had a good time. And toured all the facilities, the Golden Dome, the church, all things like that."

One of the biggest takeaways was the growing chemistry within Notre Dame's 2027 class.

"It was great," Rogers said of spending time with the other commits. "I feel like we really bonded. We're building that brotherhood as the time goes on and I feel like we got really close this weekend."

Rogers felt like the crew was the kind he would naturally fit in with and believes building those relationships now will help the class hit the ground running once everyone arrives on campus.

He also spent significant time with running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider, who remains one of the driving forces behind his commitment to the Irish, as well as fellow running back commit Lathan Whisenton.

"It was great," Rogers said. "Me and Lathan and Coach Seider, we hung out a lot. He's preaching to us about what's going to happen when we get here."

Those conversations continue fueling Rogers' excitement about his future in South Bend.

"Whenever we have a conversation about stuff like that, it gets me ready," Rogers said. "I'd go to war for Coach Seider and that team."

The weekend also gave Rogers another opportunity to envision what Notre Dame's future backfield could look like alongside Whisenton.

"Doing it with Lathan in that backfield with Coach Seider coaching us, I mean, look at his resume, that's all he's been doing," Rogers said.

The 2027 Massachusetts running back believes Seider's history of developing multiple running backs makes the pairing a natural fit.

"Just going in with that mindset that Coach Seider can get us to the NFL with two backs and he's done it multiple times," Rogers said.

Rather than viewing each other as competition, Rogers sees an opportunity for both backs to push one another.

"Just showing that we can push each other and really do a good thing in that backfield,” he said.

For Rogers, the official visit wasn't about deciding whether Notre Dame was the right choice, it was about confirming it.

And that’s what he accomplished.

"Yeah, for sure."
