Woodward Twins On The Move, Still Interested In Notre Dame

Jackson Vaughn‍ was their teammate at Bergen Catholic in Oradell, N.J. Oluwasemilore Olubobola‍ will be their teammate at St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City, N.J.

And, if Notre Dame has its way, all of them could eventually share one locker room in South Bend, Ind.

2028 New Jersey twin defensive backs Adrian and Amiir Woodward‍ recently transferred from Bergen Catholic to St. Peter's Prep, where they'll join Olubobola after spending the past two seasons alongside Vaughn. 

The Woodward brothers earned Notre Dame scholarship offers in May and remain among the Irish's top defensive back targets in the 2028 class.

Adrian and Amiir have also collected offers from schools like Michigan, Penn State, Oregon, Miami, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Florida, Nebraska and Washington among others.

The move gives the twins another opportunity to play alongside a future Notre Dame player while continuing to build their own relationships with the Irish. 

"It feels great," the 6-foot-1, 175-pound Adrian told Irish Sports Daily of joining Olubobola. "It's going to feel good because I know Olu is a hard worker and someone to look up to no matter who it is. He's a great guy."

Olubobola has already spoken highly of Notre Dame with both brothers.

"I was talking to him a little bit about Notre Dame," the 6-foot, 170-pound Amiir said. "He didn't tell me much about the program, but he was just saying it was a good place to be."

Vaughn has delivered a similar message.

"When he talked to me, it was really nothing but good things about it," Amiir said. "He was trying to get me over there. He said me and Adrian should really think about it, consider it and visit."

Those existing relationships could become meaningful as the recruiting process continues.

"It would make it an easier decision," Adrian said. "I feel like that's definitely something to think about, knowing that guys we know are going to a school like that and maybe more to come. So it would definitely be an option."

Amiir agreed.

"If there's more kids that we know over there and we already have friendships with and that we're close with playing on the same team together, that would definitely be a bonus," he said.

For now, both brothers are focused on settling into their new home at St. Peter's Prep.

"I'm just looking forward to building new relationships with all my new teammates and coaches and developing my game more," Amiir said. "I'm going to bring a bunch of hard work and great energy."

"I want to bring energy," Adrian said. "I can play anything and anywhere the coaches need me to play."

The twins haven’t scheduled a trip to South Bend yet, but both hope to make it to campus this fall to watch a practice and experience a game day. 

"I would like to see a practice, how hard they go in practice, their energy and how they run their drills," Amiir said. "And definitely the game energy, how they prepare for the games."

Adrian plans to pay close attention to Notre Dame's defense.

"I definitely want to see the game-day vibe, how it is, the atmosphere out there, practices, some DB work during practice and some of the techniques and defenses they play," he said.
