Many talented recruits are set to visit South Bend this weekend to watch #24 Notre Dame play #15 Georgia, one specifically is 3-star Indiana linebacker Richie Hagarty‍.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder has visited Notre Dame before, but Saturday will be the first time he will see the Irish in action in South Bend.

“I’ve been to Notre Dame a few times, but I don’t know much about the history,” said the Indianapolis native. “I just know that it is very similar to the school that I go to, Cathedral, and they have tradition and are a private school. I think Saturday will be a great game, and is going to show what Notre Dame is all about.”

Being able to watch the Irish in action on Saturday, Hagarty has a couple things he wants to focus on while in South Bend.

“I am looking to learn more about the program and see what it is all about, since I have never been to an actual Notre Dame game to see what is all about,” the Class of 2019 recruit expressed.

The Cathedral High School linebacker gained two scholarship offers over the summer from Boston College and Indiana University, and has acquired interest from many more FBS schools.

“I have had some interest from a few other schools, like Syracuse, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Notre Dame of course, and Western Michigan,” said Hagarty.

Bursting on the recruiting scene this past summer, the Cathedral High School standout explained how it feels to be scouted heavily and what schools like most about him.

“It is mind-blowing; knowing that schools are looking at you like that makes you want to work harder than you were before,” he said. “It is eye-opening to see everything open up.

“They love to see my effort. I am always running to the play even if it is on the opposite side of the field. They see that I have speed, which comes into play a lot. They also love to see the way I place my hands and work blocks.”

The 3-star recruit has a lot to think about since FBS schools are starting to extend offers and show great interest. Despite the attention, Hagarty has not thought much about where he wants to play or what factors are going to come into play when he is making his decision.

“I have a little bit, but not that deep into it, I just want get to know the schools before I make my decision.”
