2019 Michigan City (Ind.) linebacker Chase Triplett‍ made the short drive to South Bend on Saturday to see Notre Dame’ 52-17 win over Miami (OH). The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder enjoyed seeing game day at Notre Dame and felt the tradition throughout the day.

“My experience was great,” Triplett told Irish Sports Daily. “The atmosphere of all the fans and seeing the joy and excitement in everyone’s eyes from the coaches to players was great. I was able to be on the field before the game, in the locker room after and interact a little bit with the coaching staff.”

The time with the coaching staff was brief but Triplett appreciated the time.

“It wasn’t anything special,” said Triplett. “They just asked about my season and how I was doing.”

During the game, Triplett was paying close attention to the linebackers. He saw Greer Martini’s interception and the linebacker unit flying all over the field on Saturday afternoon.

“I saw the defense creating turnovers and setting the tone early,” explained Triplett. “This year I’m playing middle linebacker as opposed to last year playing outside backer. I’m becoming for versatile, so I could play in Notre Dame’s scheme.”

As of now, Triplett is still waiting for his first offer, but that will change any day now. The three-star prospect is in contact with multiple schools in the Midwest and is looking to get out on the road this fall.

“Ball State, Indiana, Miami (OH), Minnesota and Purdue are some of the schools on my list to visit,” said Triplett.

On his visits, Triplett is interested in learning about the educational opportunities and finding a place he would be comfortable during his time on campus.

“I’m looking for a school that excels in academics and football,” said Triplett. “I want to find a place that would be home for me for the next four years.”
