After conversations with a couple Irish coaches, 2019 athlete Da'Shaun Brown‍ will be in attendance on Saturday when the #13 Notre Dame hosts #11 USC.

“I talked to Coach (Aaryn) Kearney and he put me in contact with the quarterback coach (Tommy Rees) and he messaged me on Twitter and we had a conversation about me visiting Notre Dame, so I told Coach Kearney that I would be there for the USC game,” the talented junior from Wisconsin explained.

Despite not knowing much about Notre Dame, Brown is excited to visit South Bend and knows its football team is always very good, which piqued his interest.

“I don’t know much about Notre Dame,” the Racine, Wisc., explained. “I haven’t done much research, but watching them, they are a high-ranking and have a very good football team; anyone would be pleased to visit Notre Dame.”

The St. Catherine’s High School standout is visiting with his high school coach and has a few specific things he wants to see and learn about while in South Bend.

“I want to meet the coaches first and foremost, meet some players, some starters so I can ask them how they like it,” he said. “I also want to see the campus; we will be their early to walk around.”

The 2019 recruit holds an offer from Wisconsin and has great interest from Midwest schools such as Iowa and Iowa State. It is clear why the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder is quickly gaining interest due to his great versatility and blazing speed with a 4.47 40-time and college coaches have expressed what they like about his game despite the obvious.

“They like the decisions I make, my speed, my ability to view holes at the line with me breaking long runs and my leadership,” expressed the speedster.

Colleges are recruiting him as either an athlete or quarterback, but he expressed that he is comfortable playing multiple positions even if he was offered on defense.

“At Wisconsin, I was offered as an athlete,” said Brown. “Iowa is also recruiting me as an athlete and Iowa State is recruiting me as a quarterback.

“I have played quarterback since high school and in middle school I played running back. Defense or offense is fine, but if I were to choose a favorite I would stay at quarterback for offense and corner for defense, but I wouldn’t mind safety at all.”

Brown has a lot of time to make his decision on where he wants to play his college football, but with his latest visits to Iowa and Wisconsin and his upcoming visits to Notre Dame and Iowa State it has him thinking about the factors that will go into that choice and he is really focused on one specific thing.

“A fair shot at a starting position, I don’t know if I will go in with a starting position, but I definitely want a fair shot and at least have a fair shot at a starting position and I want to know that the person starting is better than me not just because they are a senior.”
