2019 GA WR Calls Notre Dame Trip "Great Experience"
Zach Owens made the trip Saturday to South Bend Saturday to watch Notre Dame host NC State and the 2019 wide receiver from Georgia was blown away by the visit.
“I loved it, it was a great experience,” he said. “I liked the facilities and the overall tour of the campus; we got see all the football facilities, the stadium, weight room and we got to try on a jersey. The tradition and history about Notre Dame stood out to me the most.”
While walking around and seeing everything on campus, Owens really got to embrace the environment and liked what he saw, but as a football player, his favorite part of the visit was inside Notre Dame Stadium.
“It is a beautiful campus and a very nice environment,” expressed the Marietta, Ga., native. “I liked the stadium the most, but I also liked the football facilities and the Golden Dome.”
Despite leaving early the junior prospect was able to experience the atmosphere inside his favorite part of the visit and was blown away by the environment and how the Irish played.
“It was crazy; it was very loud and a great environment,” stated Owens. “They played good; they started a little rough and then obviously blew them out throughout the game.”
The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder could not help but really focus on his position group throughout.
“I focused on the receivers, especially #6 (Equanimeous St. Brown),” explained the Pope High School standout.
Owens wasn’t able to talk to any coaches or players during the visit, but did speak to some staff members and wants to get back to South Bend in the future.
“I talked to the recruiting staff, I didn’t really get to talk to any coaches or players, but with the recruiting staff we just talked about the season and introduced myself,” Owens said. “I’ll probably go to a camp because I didn’t do one this year.”
