Jeremiah Criddell‍ has already made the decision to transfer from Rancho Cucamonga High School to Mater Dei for his senior season, but the 2019 California cornerback still has to make the big decision of what college he’s going to attend.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound junior continues to pile up offers, recently adding Florida, Oklahoma and Baylor to a list that already included schools like Notre Dame, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington and Alabama among others.

Criddell thought about trying to get to Notre Dame’s recent Junior Day, but decided it would be better to wait.

“I think I’m just going to have to take an official visit out there,” he said.

The Irish do have his attention.

“Really just the coaching staff,” he said of what he likes about Notre Dame. “I know they’ll be able to up my game academically and in football. The history of the place and everything.”

He’s looking forward to getting out to the Midwest for the visit.

“Really just to see the surroundings, see Chicago and really get to experience the weather, everything,” he said. “Just get to know the school better.”

He has a few other trips he’d like to make in the months to come as well.

“I’m going to try to get out to see Alabama again, most likely Washington, probably Florida, a few other schools,” said Criddell. “I haven’t really made anything concrete yet.”

The in-state schools figure to always have a spot on Criddell’s list, but they don’t seem to be among the schools recruiting him the hardest right now.

“UCLA, with the coaching staff change, I really haven’t talked to them a whole lot,” he said. “But UCLA will always be in the picture.

“USC, same thing pretty much. We haven’t had a really, really strong relationship. I’ve been talking to (defensive backs coach Ronnie) Bradford a lot. I’m just looking for their classes to be officially done with 2018 and hopefully after that, my recruitment will pick up. Right now, I’m just trying to see and wait it out.”

Oregon, on the other hands, has been coming after him hard.

“I have a really good relationship with their entire coaching staff,” Criddell explained. “Coach (Keith) Heyward and Coach (Mario) Cristobal, really recruit me the hardest there.

“I’ve already taken a visit up there, so I know what the city is about kind of. I’m really excited about that school. Some of my teammates went up there, a lot of guys I know. That’s a really comfortable place.”

He was excited to add the offer from the Gators.

“They had a new DB coach come in, it can be really good,” he said. “There’s a lot of opportunity there now. Everybody is kind of new, but it’s just DBU pretty much. That’s Florida.”

Criddell expects to use official visits in the spring in the hopes of having a decision by the end of the summer.

“I’m going to be trying to shut it all down before my senior season starts, so hopefully. That’s what I’m shooting for. I’m not going to rush it. If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen, but that’s what I’m shooting for.”
