Recruitment Rundown: Flemister saw his recruiting profile explode over the last couple months. Initially committed to Georgia Southern, he flipped to Georgia Tech at the start of December, but the Power Five schools kept coming and by the end, he was choosing between the Irish, the Yellow Jackets and Tennessee. He took officials to Tennessee and Notre Dame in January and by the time he returned from South Bend, it was obvious the Irish had taken control of the recruitment. Everybody we talked with inside his circle favored Notre Dame and by the final week of the process, Tennessee and Georgia Tech had essentially moved on.

Pike County HC Brad Webber: “Just his work ethic, his tenacity,” the coach said of what makes Flemister special. “If you see him on film, he’s amazing.

“The running backs coach at Notre Dame said he kind of reminds him of Marcus Allen, he’s kind of a throwback guy. He has tremendous feet, just a tremendous player who will do anything you ask him to do.”

Webber also lauded Flemister’s presence away from the field.

“He’s good in the locker room,” said Webber. “He’s a leader. He was obviously one of our captains. He’s good with our young kids. In the classroom, you couldn’t ask for anything better. I just never had any trouble with him whatsoever. He’s just a good, well-rounded individual.”

ISD expert Jamie Uyeyama: I see a player who I feel can be an inside-outside threat as a runner that is as strong running in traffic in short yardage as he is when breaking into the open field. Former South Florida star and current Indianapolis Colt Marlon Mack is someone that comes to mind when thinking about Flemister’s potential.

He’s someone that was not highly ranked and became a star at USF. The way Mack looked like he was going through moguls in the snow with his cuts is similar to what I see with Flemister. We’ll see if he’ll have the same kind of explosive big play ability that Mack did.

That may be considered too high of a ceiling in the eyes of some, but that’s the kind of player I think he has the potential to become. That’s also why I think this is a serious steal for the Irish this late in the process. He’s probably the biggest sleeper in their 2018 class.
