Notre Dame has gone on an offer spree at receiver over the last couple weeks and 2019 Millwood (Okla.) standout Demariyon Houston‍ was one of those players that was offered by the Irish.

“Coach Alexander was at my school and had said he didn’t know if he could offer me,” Houston told Irish Sports Daily. “He hadn’t seen my transcript. Later in the day, my recruiting coordinator came to my class and told me to come with him.

“He told me Coach Alexander wanted to see me progress throughout the year and I was the type of guy I was looking for and that I had an offer.”

The 6-foot, 165-pounder holds offers from Colorado, Florida, Iowa State, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, SMU and Texas Tech, but the offer from Notre Dame was a big one.

Houston is working on possibly getting to campus for an official visit this spring.

“I was thinking about taking an official visit to Notre Dame,” stated Houston. “I’m trying to get everything put together.”

The Oklahoma native admits the recruiting process has caught him off guard as offers from all over the country are starting to flow in.

“It’s all coming on fast,” laughed Houston. “I didn’t know it was going to come this fast. When I talked to Coach Kennedy from Florida on the phone, he was telling me they were offering me. I didn’t hear him at first, and I thought I was trippin’. He said they were offering and they wanted to get me down there to show me around.”

Alexander has stayed in contact with Houston, and the two are communicating enough to keep the four-star prospect interested in the Irish.

“We have been talking,” Houston said. “I hit him up here and there to see how he’s doing. He always asks me how school and my grades are coming along.”

Houston has one unofficial locked in later this month, and it’s to an SEC program that could be on the rise.

“I have one visit locked in,” said Houston. “I’m taking an unofficial visit to Arkansas on February 24th.”
