2020 OL Turner Corcoran Says Notre Dame Experience Unlike Any Other
Turner Corcoran got the chance to check out Notre Dame for the first time on Saturday and the 2020 Kansas offensive lineman found out why so many people believe it’s such a special place.
“It was really fun,” the 6-foot-6, 270-pounder told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I had a great time. I hadn’t really experienced anything like Notre Dame before.
“It was just really surreal. It was incredible. I had a great time.”
The Lawrence Free State High School standout was particularly struck by the campus.
“Campus really stood out to me and how the coaches treated me and just how rich the tradition Notre Dame has,” he said.
The Lawrence native also had a chance to speak with Irish offensive line coach Jeff Quinn, recruiting coordinator Brian Polian and assistant Tom Rees.
“Just keep working hard, keep staying in the weight room, keep working on your footwork and everything,” Corcoran said of the message from the Irish staff.
“They said they’d be by my school sometime soon.”
Corcoran would welcome the opportunity to return.
“I’d definitely like to go back in the fall to experience a game,” he said. “They were telling me the atmosphere is a lot different than a spring game. That’d definitely be on my bucket list for this upcoming season.”
Corcoran has early offers from Kansas State and Iowa State. In addition to Notre Dame, he’s also been hearing from Kansas and Missouri.
‘I’m headed to KU next weekend for their spring game,” he said. “I’m looking forward to that and seeing how that goes.”
He isn’t completely sure what factors will play the biggest roles in his final decision.
“There are a lot of things that come into play like location, obviously my education and then I guess the third thing would be football,” he explained. “Do I like the people? Do I like how everybody treats me there? Do I feel wanted in the program?”
One thing he is completely sure of is the fact that he was impressed this weekend.
“It was phenomenal. It was something else.”
