BREAKING: Andrew Kristofic Continues Western PA Pipeline For Notre Dame

2019 Pine-Richland (Pa.) offensive lineman Andrew Kristofic‍ will continue the pipeline Notre Dame has started in Western PA as the three-star prospect has committed to the Irish. Kristofic also makes the fourth commitment in four days for Notre Dame. 

The 6-foot-5, 265-pounder chose the Irish over Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oregon, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin. 

Notre Dame stuck out in many areas, but it was the combination of life on and off the field that made the difference. 

“The combination of athletics and academics is something no other school can offer at the level of Notre Dame along with the tradition of offensive line play,” explained Kristofic. “It’s really just a strong group of guys that have been able to accomplish a lot of things.” 

Offensive line coach Jeff Quinn also made quite the impression on the Kristofic since taking over the job in January, but the chance to see him interact with his linemen on a March visit was significant for the Gibsonia native. 

“I’ve been talking with him constantly since he got the job,” stated Kristofic. “It was awesome to see him coaching and in his element. I got to see how he interacted with the players as a coach and not just a recruiter.” 

Kristofic will not only join John Olmstead‍ in the 2019 offensive class, but he will get to block for his high school quarterback Phil Jurkovec‍ at the next level. Jurkovec was a big part of Kristofic's recruitment, but he never forced Notre Dame on his friend.  

“He went through the situation in the past,” Kristofic said of Jurkovec. “He knows what it’s like to be hounded and questioned about everything. He’s given me some space, but he’s always willing to answer any questions Notre Dame-related or in general. 

“He makes sure to give his little Notre Dame pitch real subtly and as much as he can.” 

Jurkovec was fired up to hear the news on Monday night, "It's going to be awesome to play together at the next level after the years we've already had together at Pine-Richland."
