Jevyon Ducker‍ knows a bit about Notre Dame already and the 2020 Nebraska running back will learn a lot more when he visits South Bend this Saturday for the Irish’s primetime matchup with Stanford.

“One day I got an email from them and they were like, ‘We’d like you to come to one of our home games,’” Ducker explained. “They sent me a schedule of all their home games and I thought this was the best one to go to.

“I know it’s a prestigious, very smart school, it’s a great school in general. I like watching college football. They’re obviously good this year and still undefeated.

“It’s kind of cool getting stuff from Notre Dame. I want to see the environment and how Notre Dame runs stuff.”

The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder from Bellevue, Neb., said he’s always received a great deal of mail from the Irish.

“(Director of Football Recruiting) Aaryn Kearney followed me on Twitter,” he said. “I feel like they know about me.”

Purdue, South Dakota and South Dakota State certainly know about Ducker as all three have already extended offers.

The Purdue offer came last winter.

“I talked to a guy right before and I got good vibes and then it kind of came randomly,” said Ducker. “It was a great feeling of course.”

The Bellevue West High School standout has also been hearing from several other programs.

“Stanford has been sending me stuff basically every day, they sent me a big poster,” he said. “Northwestern too.  Minnesota, I’m going to one of their games. Michigan State invited me to their game against Central Florida this Saturday, but I’m going to the Notre Dame game instead.”

Ducker, who has been clocked at 4.5 in the 40-yard dash, believes colleges see the total package when evaluating him.

“I have really good grades, so I think all coaches like that,” he explained. “Then, just kind of knowing the game, my quickness, making one guy miss, the safety. I always have to make the safety miss, if you can’t make him miss, you’re not going to be any good.”

This will be Ducker’s first visit this fall, but he’s planning to get to Minnesota next week and is also looking at potential trips to Oregon State and Michigan State.

He knows what he’s looking for in a college.

“Their ability to win, which Notre Dame does, fan base and probably academics.”
