2020 OL Sean Timmis Talks Notre Dame Trip

Sean Timmis‍ had his first chance to experience Notre Dame last weekend and the 2020 Wisconsin offensive lineman liked what he saw.

“It was awesome,” he said. “It was really awesome.

“We checked in and right away, we went and got measured. Then, we just kind of walked around their facilities a little bit. We saw the weight room, saw a couple of the film rooms, meeting rooms. Then, we walked across to the Stadium, walked in the main doors, which was pretty cool. We got to see the locker room and everything. When we saw all of that, we went outside, walked down the tunnel, saw the Play Like A Champion Today sign. We walked out to the Stadium. It’s unbelievable when there’s nobody in there, it’s huge.”

After that, the Marquette University High School standout and the other visitors headed over to the Joyce Center.

“They had Madden set up and a lot of food there,” he explained. “We kind of hung out there for a while. I met with some of the recruits, talked with Coach Kearney a little bit. Then there was a player panel and the recruiting director got up there and talked and then one of the assistant coaches got up and talked. We got to go watch the Player Walk, which I thought was awesome.”

Then, the visitors headed over to Notre Dame Stadium to see the Irish beat Florida State 42-13.

“I thought it was a great game too,” he said. “Even though they blew them out, I still had a great time.”

The 6-foot-5, 265-pounder wants to get back in the future.

“I’m going to try to make it down there for a visit this spring just so I can watch practice,” he said. “Then, I’ll go from there. I’ll see what they want from, what position they want me at. Some schools may want me at tackle, but a lot of other schools really want me to play some guard, so we’ll see.”

Timmis has plans to get to Miami-Ohio and Wisconsin later this month and is also looking into trips to Syracuse and Northern Illinois.

“A lot of schools will visit our campus, so we’ll see what else happens.”
