The Blue-Gold game is a showcase for the fans, but it’s essentially a 15th practice for the team. No one gets a big boost if they played better in the spring game than they did the rest of the spring. It’s not worth more in the eyes of the coaches.

It is worth more to the fans, though, because that’s the only practice they get to see (aside from the participants at the coaches clinic).
