2020 Four-Star S Jordan Morant Continues To Be Impressed By Notre Dame
Notre Dame arrived a little late to the party for 2020 Bergen Catholic (N.J.) safety Jordan Morant, but it hasn’t prevented the Irish from becoming a significant player in his recruitment.
The four-star prospect has connected with defensive coordinator Clark Lea and also has built a strong relationship with safeties coach Terry Joseph.
“It’s been good,” Morant told Irish Sports Daily. “Coach Lea and I have talked about some stuff. We’ve had really good talks.
“Coach Lea and I keep in really good contact. We’re talking a lot along with Coach Joseph. We talk about me coming back to Notre Dame and trying to figure out my official visit. We have a really good relationship.”
Lea is known for being a straight shooter and relating well to prospects in the past, which is something Morant has definitely felt.
“Honestly, he’s a straight forward guy,” stated Morant. “He wants to make sure I know what I’m getting into. I really like him.”
Joseph has also made a positive impression on the 6-foot, 197-pounder.
“We talk a lot and he would be my position coach,” Morant explained. “I really like him as a coach and a person. He says a lot of good stuff.”
Former Notre Dame recruit and Stanford linebacker signee Aeneas DiCosmo has helped Morant go through the process. Bergen Catholic players are no stranger to Division I offers, but DiCosmo was courted by many of the same programs Morant is looking at and he’s been able to give good feedback despite his Stanford ties.
“He’s committed to Stanford, so he’s a little biased about Stanford and doesn’t talk much about other schools,” laughed Morant. “He told me Notre Dame is a great school and speaks highly of Notre Dame.”
Morant is in the process of locking in his official visits and has one scheduled.
“I’ll be going to Michigan on June 21st for an official visit,” Morant said. “I’m still trying to figure out more visits before that, but I haven’t locked in any other visits.
“I’ll pretty much be taking them in the summer and fall. I have until January 4th to commit. I’m going to take my time.”
