2022 WR Tyler Morris Enjoys Notre Dame, Plans To Be Back
Tyler Morris had heard plenty about Notre Dame.
The 2022 Illinois wide receiver heard plenty more when he became just the second prospect in the Class of 2022 to land an offer from the Irish last month.
But on Sunday, Morris got to see Notre Dame.
“The visit made me sure that this is somewhere I’m interested in and would like to learn more about and stay in contact with them,” Morris said after working out at Irish Invasion Camp in South Bend on Sunday.
“The campus was nice we walked around for a little bit before the camp and I liked being able to see some of the campus and get a feel for it a little bit.”
The Nazareth Academy star made the trip down with his friend, 2022 quarterback Kaden Cobb from Fenwick High School. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Cobb participated in the quarterback portion of the camp and impressed Irish assistant Tom Rees enough to say Notre Dame would be in touch. Cobb was impressed with his entire experience as well.
Morris enjoyed his time with the staff.
“I liked the coaches I talked to,” said Morris. “They made sure of the little things we did that will make a difference in the game and our routes and I liked their styles of coaching.”
The 5-foot-11, 165-pound Morris felt good about his performance and appreciated the advice he received from the staff.
“I think I did good with details in drills and showing that I am coachable,” he said. “I think during one-on-ones, I showed that I can create separation and make plays.”
“Some of the feedback I got was just small details on footwork and how that works into the game and the reasons they run the routes how they do. “
Morris, who also has offers from schools like Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Iowa and Illinois among others, said he doesn’t have any other camp dates set. He does expect to return to South Bend later this year and probably beyond that.
“I’m going to try and get back for a game this fall and am definitely going to stay in contact with them for these next few years.”
