The Latest | Official Visit Weekend #1
- Notre Dame laid the red carpet out this weekend and it could pay off down the line (as in July). - The Irish are in great shape with both tight ends who were on campus in Preston Fryzel and Evan Jacobson. It wouldn't surprise me if both ended up in the blue and gold. The only hesitation I have here is Ian Premer will be coming in on his official in the middle of this coming week. I think, pending how his visit goes, the class will go. I don't think Notre Dame will take three tight ends, but we'll see. - Digging more into things, I believe 2026 defensive back Joey O'Brien is down to Notre Dame and Oregon at this point. He was at Oregon last weekend and will make his decision on June 20th. If you're worried about NIL or whatnot, O'Brien is the kid you pay for...plain and simple. - I think 2026 cornerback Khary Adams has Notre Dame high on his list at this point. He's set to visit Oregon next weekend, but I'm getting the vibe that the trip is somewhat in limbo at this point. - 2026 receiver Devin Fitzgerald spoke very highly of Notre Dame following his official and I think Notre Dame is likely in the lead. He was fresh off a visit to Clemson and Stanford, but I think UCLA is the other team in contention here. - At this point, I'm a bit unsure where 2026 receiver Brayden Robinson fits into the picture. It's very clear Notre Dame has made him a priority, but the Irish already have a slot in the class in Bubba Frazier. One would think Fitzgerald and Jayden Warren would be "better" takes because they are bigger receivers. But we'll see. - I get the feeling 2026 receiver Kaydon Finley knows he fits at Notre Dame and can achieve all his goals at Notre Dame, but the only hitch is Texas. Texas is his father's alma mater and there has obviously been some pressure to stay home. From everything I've gathered, I believe his father would be more than fine if Notre Dame were the choice, but he'd obviously be thrilled if his son committed to Texas. I do believe the decision will be the kids at the end of the day, so we'll see what happens after he takes his official visit to Texas this weekend. - There's also confidence where Notre Dame stands with 2026 offensive lineman Grayson McKeogh. O'Brien is his high school teammate, but I don't think that plays too much of a factor in his decision. That said, I do believe McKeogh saw himself fit at Notre Dame, and the commits helped him feel that way. - At this point, I'm not sure Notre Dame is overly concerned about any of its commits. Obviously, that can change in the next few months, but coming out of this weekend's official visits, I'm not getting a sense of worry about any of them. - The last note is I'm not sure 2026 defensive lineman Dre Quinn will end up visiting next weekend. Notre Dame is all in on Elijah Golden and I think Quinn has some concerns about Notre Dame already having two defensive ends in the boat. He was at Texas the last few days and I see this as more of Clemson/Georgia/Texas battle over Notre Dame being a true player. We'll see what happens as Notre Dame would love to have him, but as mentioned earlier this week, the Irish are likely going to take four defensive linemen. And before anyone asks, if Quinn doesn't end up visiting, I would lean towards Notre Dame making that decision so they aren't wasting time on someone they don't feel is likely to commit. National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.
