Marcus Freeman has repeatedly talked about his preference for enhancement over change.

That showed up again during the 2026 recruiting cycle, which saw Notre Dame land its best recruiting class in generations.

The Irish didn’t make any massive adjustments to their overall recruiting strategy.

“We just showed what this place is all about and what it does for you while you're here and once you leave it,” one source with knowledge of the process told ISD this week.
