Lessons From LeBron For One New Notre Dame Target
Ceyair Wright will likely find himself under the spotlight when he gets to college and an experience this summer is preparing him for that in a unique way.
The elite 2021 cornerback prospect from California has offers from some of the nation’s top programs, including USC, Oregon, Nebraska, Arizona, Cal and, as of Friday, Notre Dame.
Running track and playing 7-on-7 with Ground Zero certainly helps prepare Wright for the gridiron in the fall, but he’s currently getting in some work off the field that will help him far beyond the typical training top student-athletes do.
He’s also spent a good chuck of the summer playing basketball.
“My hand-eye coordination is improving,” says Wright.
But simply playing hoops isn’t unique, it’s the fact that he’s doing so as part of his duties shooting Space Jam 2, where he’s playing the role of LeBron James’ son.
“I feel like I’m just learning a lot about how to deal with things like (dealing with the spotlight), especially from LeBron,” Wright says. “I see how he deals with things like that. I’m really soaking that in, learning how to deal with a lot of attention.”
This is the first major motion picture role for Wright, who has nothing but good things to say about the film’s feature star.
“He’s a great guy,” he says of James. “He’s humble, he’s nice. He’s a really cool guy.”
Wright says “education is a big thing for me” and would like to go to a college with a strong film school.
“It’s something I’d like to do in the future.”
More on Wright and his offer from the Irish later today.
