New Notre Dame Offer Notes | 2022

April 19, 2020
4,501

Notre Dame offered several 2021 prospects a few weeks back. The reason there was a rush on them had to do with the lack of an April/May evaluation period. Without it, the staff had to be proactive and were so with recruits from that cycle.

There wasn’t a run on 2022 prospects at that time, but there might be one now with three offers handed out last week. Unsurprisingly, with less that 40 offers out total to the class, the three prospects are all considered elite.

DE Tyson Ford‍ (Missouri)

Ford has a sky high ceiling. He’s long with explosive athletic traits. He’s a unique athlete at his size. What’s he going to be like when he gradually adds 20-30 pounds? Probably one scary dude coming off the edge.

He has a very good first step and the kind of lateral quickness that will help him excel as a pass rusher. It’s not surprising that the 6’6” prospect doesn’t know how to use his length to his fullest advantage yet and can play a bit high with his pad level, but the potential is there for him to be one of the top defensive linemen in the 2022 cycle.

Grade: 93 (4-star)

DE Enai White‍ (New Jersey)

White feels like a lock to be one of the top edge rushers in 2022. He’s a twitchy athlete who can dip and bend around the corner. He’s long and skinny right now, but has the kind of frame to carry a lot more over the next couple of years.

Some pass rushes are blessed with gifts that others don’t have and White is in that category. He utilizes explosive movement to win. He can get lateral and up the field in a hurry. He flashes a super quick arm over and rushes with a good understanding of leverage against his blocker. He needs to get more shock in his hands, but the tools are there for him to be special.

Grade: 94 (4-star)

OL Billy Schrauth‍  (Wisconsin)

Schrauth is a two-way lineman that is going to play offense in college. He’s a good athlete for his size that isn’t heavy-footed. That’s why even though he plays guard, he has the athletic profile and frame that could project to tackle. He does a fantastic job of getting out to the second level and finishing his block.

He’s raw with his technique in a lot of ways, but not at all with his feet. That’s the important part and the rest can get cleaned up a lot easier.

Grade: 90 (4-star)
