It's been a wave of Notre Dame offers for the 2022 class over the last few days.

Naples (Fla.) defensive back Devin Moore‍ received good news on Thursday as the Irish offered.

"Coach Terry Joseph texted my head coach for my transcripts and everything," Moore stated. "My head coach sent them over and then called me to tell me they were going offer. I called Coach Joseph after that."

The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder is just getting his recruitment started, but Joseph made a positive impression during his phone call with Moore.

"My first impression was he means business," said Moore. "That's all I'm about too. Just like another other player or coach, both of us have goals and we're going to be serious, determined and humble about them. We'll have to work together to fulfill those goals."

The Florida native will be the first to admit he doesn't know too much about Notre Dame and plans to start learning more about the program.

However, Moore is well-aware of Notre Dame's academic and athletic history.

"At this point, I know Notre Dame is a very prestigious school and they take their academics seriously, which my parents and I do as well," stated Moore.

Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, NC State, Nebraska, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech are just a few of the programs that have offered and it's given Moore motivation.

"It all kind of hit me quick and I adjusted to it pretty well," explained Moore. "It's just making me more humble and I'm motivated more than ever to keep working. I want to be the best to ever do it."

Now, Notre Dame isn't the first and won't be the last big-time school to offer Moore, but his first offer from NC State let him know he was in for a wild ride.

"It surprised me," laughed Moore. "I'm not going to lie. I was new to the recruiting business and to hear them say that word that starts with an 'o' was just amazing."

Moore is currently working on transitioning to cornerback for the 2020 season after playing safety his first two years of high school.

"I think my strength right now is my playmaking ability, but also my length, speed and ability to cover," Moore said. "I'm actually switching from safety to cornerback. We didn't have a lot of depth, so I had to play safety and cover the whole field. Being a lengthy corner plays to my advantage.

"This offseason, I'm focused on working on being able to cover better and getting stronger. You can always get better at covering, stronger and faster."

When it comes to a decision, Moore's recruitment might be just getting started, but he already knows what he's looking for in a future home.

"I'll be honest," said Moore. "Everyone has a legitimate shot at me. I'm just trying to find that balance between great coaching, great academics, great fans and a great town.

"In-state or out of state, it really doesn't affect me right now."
