2023 Andrean (Ind.) linebacker Drayk Bowen‍ started the summer with a visit to Notre Dame and finished it today with a trip back to South Bend.

The composite five-star prospect spent significant time with head coach Brian Kelly on Tuesday and left campus impressed once again.

"It was awesome," Bowen told ISD. "Coach Kelly took us through some in-depth details we didn't get to really talk about or see when we visited in June."

Part of Kelly's message was about how the program emphasis recovery, which hit home with Bowen and his family.

"We talked about how they recover and keep their players bodies prepared with their oura rings," explained Bowen. "Coach Kelly talked about how we need to get enough sleep and make sure to stretch. Seeing all the stuff they do for competitions every day was awesome to see."

Defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman also made plenty of time for the in-state prospect.

"I was able to talk to Coach (Chad) Bowden and Coach Freeman again," said Bowen. "It was cool to see all the different things that keep Notre Dame special."

One part of Freeman's message was about locking in top linebacker classes in 2022 and 2023 as the Irish are upperclassmen heavy at the moment.

"He talked about the defense again, but also about the depth chart and where I fit into that," stated Bowen.

"Notre Dame has a lot of people leaving in the next two years, so he's trying to bring in six or seven linebackers in the next two classes."

The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder also made his way over to the baseball facilities to see what Link Jarrett's program had to offer, but the staff couldn't speak with him due to NCAA rules.

"I'm pretty sure they're still in a dead period where they can't talk to me," Bowen said. "I got to go over to the baseball field and seeing all of that was awesome. It's beautiful."

Up next for Bowen will be a baseball tournament in Georgia and then he'll turn his focus to the football field.

The Andrean star also plans to start setting up game day visits in the near future.

"I just want to keep building a relationship with the coaches and seeing them more in person," said Bowen.

"I do want to go to some games, but I haven't set any of them up yet."
