2025 DE Hayden Lowe Excited For Notre Dame Offer

Notre Dame’s coaching staff spent several days in Southern California this week as they evaluated 2025 and 2026 prospects.

2025 Oaks Christian (Calif.) defensive end Hayden Lowe‍ picked up an offer from Notre Dame defensive line coach Al Washington and while it was a bit of a surprise, the offer from the Irish was one the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder was hoping to earn.

“My first thought was that I’m very blessed,” Lowe told ISD. “Notre Dame is a high academic school and that’s what I’m looking for. Academics are a priority on my list, so I was happy and intrigued.”

Lowe isn't a stranger to big-time offers as Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College, Cal, Louisville, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon State, Pitt, San Diego State, Syracuse, Tulsa, Utah and Washington have already extended offers.

Yet the California native knows this is just the beginning.

“All the glory goes to God,” stated Lowe. “I know if I put the work in, don’t get big-headed and stay humble more offers will come. I know it’s not normal, so I have to stay humble.”

What has drawn some of the top programs in the country to the West Coast for Lowe?

It’s his ability to come off the edge.

“I can bend the corner and get off the ball,” Lowe said. “One thing I have to work on is staying low when I get off the ball rushing to the outside. That’s pretty much what I’ve been focusing on this offseason.”

When it comes to visits, Lowe has made recent trips to Texas, UCLA and USC. The trip to Austin left an impression as he was able to experience something new.

“I loved Texas,” stated Lowe. “The weather is kind of bipolar over there. The campus was great. I love Coach Sark. It was a great visit.

“Every college does things differently. They all have different aspects. They do things differently down South.”

As for USC, Lowe believes he’s a priority as the Trojans staff is looking to make the local kids a priority after the previous staff went outside the state.

“I feel like they want to get the best guys they can,” explained Lowe. “The priority seems like the Southern Cal boys and then they’ll start to branch out.”

Lowe also expects to make the trip to South Bend at some point this summer or fall.

“I do plan on coming out to Notre Dame,” said Lowe. “I don’t have a specific date set up right now, but I will be there in the future.”
