2025 WR Talyn Taylor Enjoys Another Trip to Notre Dame & Will Return
Notre Dame’s Grill & Chill recruiting event featured several of the top players from around the country, but 2025 Geneva Community (Ill.) receiver Talyn Taylor was one of the headliners.
Sure, it’s easy to say one recruit isn’t more important than another, but in Taylor’s case, the 6-foot-1, 180-pounder is a top-of-the-board prospect as Chansi Stuckey continues to rebuild the receiver room.
“It was a great experience meeting the commits and hanging out with the coaches,” Taylor told iSD. “It was just an overall fun time.”
Stuckey made sure to spend a ton of time with Taylor and fellow receiver Jerome Bettis Jr. on Sunday as he looks to build on the strong relationships he’s already cultivated.
“He’s a great guy,” Taylor said. “Coach Stuckey is a really nice guy and a great coach. He’s just a great man and a great coach. That’s what I really like about him.”
The message from Stuckey was simple as he made sure to emphasize how much Taylor was needed and wanted in South Bend.
“Coach Stuckey said I’m a top priority for him and he would love to have me play at Notre Dame,” stated Taylor.
If you think Stuckey and the Irish coaching staff were the only ones recruiting the four-star prospect during the visit, you’d be wrong as Notre Dame’s commits CJ Carr and Cam Williams were in his ear all day.
“It was great hanging out with him,” Taylor said of Williams. “He’s another receiver and a great receiver, who comes from Illinois. That’s pretty cool. He’s an overall cool guy.”
Notre Dame also made sure to keep Bettis and Taylor around each other during the visit. Stuckey would love to land both and it appears the two receivers hit it off on Sunday.
“He’s cool,” stated Taylor. “We just met there. We were in the same group the whole time. It was fun playing with him in all the games. We followed each other on Instagram after that and we’re cool now.”
Marcus Freeman also made an appearance despite being in the middle of fall camp and was able to connect with Taylor.
“He’s a really nice guy and a great coach,” explained Taylor. “We didn’t get to talk too much, but we talked at the beginning and end. We were talking about me coming back to Notre Dame for games and stuff like that.
“He had a whole presentation for everyone. He talked about Notre Dame, the Gold Standard and everything. He’s great.”
Taylor, once again was impressed with Chad Bowden on the visit. Bowden has made it a point to actively recruit several of Notre Dame’s top recruits and Taylor definitely felt the love from Notre Dame’s Director of Recruiting.
“Chad is just great and his energy is so electric,” Taylor said. “He’s just so happy all the time and so funny. It’s just good vibes from him all day long.”
As for a decision, Taylor is still taking in the recruiting process and doesn’t have a date in mind, but he will be back in South Bend sooner than later.
“I think we’re planning to go to the Notre Dame-Ohio State game,” said Taylor.
