Top 2025 Notre Dame LB Target Christian Jones Eyes South Bend Trip
Christian Jones hasn’t been to Notre Dame for a visit yet, but that could change next month, when the elite 2025 Nebraska linebacker and his Westside High School teammate – and current Irish commit – Teddy Rezac expect to make the trip out to South Bend.
“I think me and Ted are going to go to the Ohio State game,” the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder says.
“I honestly I don't know what to expect. I'm sure there'll be some good electric energy in the building. I just want to see campus to see what it's like.”
Rezac has certainly been in Jones’ ear about Notre Dame.
“He is just always saying, 'You'd look good in some Blue and Gold,’” Jones laughs. “He's always just always saying some things.”
Jones holds offers from schools like Notre Dame, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, USC, Wisconsin and several others.
“I'm blessed to be in the position I am in, but it's fun just talking to all the different coaches and all that stuff,” he says.
The Omaha product spoke to several Irish coaches the first day they were allowed to reach out to him directly.
“On August 1st, I FaceTimed them,” he says. “It was a lot of people. They just kept passing the phone around. I know it was Coach (Al) Golden and then a bunch of assistants.
“Every now and then, I get a little text from them or a call from them. They've been in touch…It's cool building those relationships. I'm definitely very blessed to just be able to talk to them and getting that opportunity to talk to them.”
Despite not having visited yet, Jones has an appreciation for what Notre Dame can offer.
“It's just a really rich traditional school,” he says. “I know you get a good education and you build a lot of really good connections.”
He doesn’t have any fall visits completely locked in just yet, but it sounds like he’ll be on the road a bit.
As for other schools recruiting him hard, Jones lists the in-state Huskers along with Oklahoma, Texas A&M, USC, Clemson and Tennessee.
Jones doesn’t know when he’ll make a final decision or trim his list.
“That I'm still trying to figure out with my family,” he says. “I couldn't tell you right now.”
But he does have a good idea of what he’ll be looking for when picking one school over the rest.
“It would just probably be family, brotherhood and the culture and then who is going to prepare me to be a good man and put me to the next level and give me a good education.”
