2025 OL Easton Ware Talks "Unreal" Notre Dame Offer
Easton Ware has seen his recruitment skyrocket in recent weeks as the 2025 Virginia offensive lineman has picked up offers from Notre Dame, Auburn and Clemson since late-September.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder was excited to learn of the offer from the Irish during a call with offensive line coach Joe Rudolph.
“They were talking about how they think I'm one of the most aggressive linemen in our grade,” Ware explained. “They think I have the potential to be something really great there, they like my playing style, get off the ball and the havoc I create on the line.
“It was very exciting. Notre Dame has been one of my top schools for a long time. It was kind of like a dream come true, kind of like an unreal moment.”
The Liberty Christian star is interested in Notre Dame’s tradition and the fact that his relationship with Rudolph stretches back beyond Rudolph’s time in South Bend.
“Their football program just has a history of greatness,” he said of the Irish. “Their culture is super cool. One of my friend's mom was a big basketball star there, Kelly Deyo, so they've had some influence on there.
“Also, Coach Rudolph coming from Virginia Tech. I had a good relationship with him there and then him switching to Notre Dame and me going to the camp there just grew that relationship more. Coach Rudolph's the one who really convinced me to go out there for the camp. We've been talking for a while, me and Coach Rudolph, so it's kind of cool to finally get that from him.”
Ware’s performance at that Notre Dame camp in June certainly helped him land the offer, but he didn’t get much time for sightseeing while in South Bend.
“We just drove around campus a little bit, went to the store, ate around at some restaurants around there, but that's really it,” he said.
But he should get the chance to see and do more in a couple of weeks, when he returns for the Irish’s game against USC. He says he’ll be looking to see how everything operates on gameday and how the current players are treated.
He’s already made visits to Duke, Liberty, Clemson and Auburn this fall.
Ware has a good idea of what he’s looking for in a college.
“How they can help a player not only on the field, but off the field. How they're going to help you in life after football, because eventually it's going to end for everyone. Some people sooner than later, but how they're going to help prepare me for the real world, how they're going to help me get jobs after, preparing me for life after football.”
