Coach | 2025 Notre Dame OL Target Easton Ware Blowing Up
Easton Ware saw his recruitment go to a new level late last month.
In the last 10 days of September, the 2025 Virginia offensive lineman picked up offers from Notre Dame, Clemson and Auburn to go with offers he already had from schools like Oklahoma, Duke, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest among others.
“He's been a multi-year starter for us,” Liberty Christian Academy head coach Frank Rocco says. “As a freshman, he actually played for us in our state championship game as a tight end. He's athletic enough to play the tight end position, but he was big enough as a freshman to be a blocker off of the edge for us.
“Since then, obviously he has continued to develop and been a multi-year starter for us and experienced in high-level games where he has played very, very well.”
The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder’s junior film is the main reason he’s continued to add offers and having 2025 Clemson running back commit Gideon Davidson behind him has certainly helped.
“Gideon continues to light it up with total yards and touchdowns,” says Rocco. “People are looking a lot at what Gideon is doing, but then they're also noticing that our offensive line is blocking in such a way that Gideon's literally getting into the secondary untouched in many cases, and then making a move on a secondary player and outrunning someone. So people are taking a little bit more note as to the offensive line that is providing such good blocking for him.
“Easton has really developed. He's a great kid, but he put him in a football uniform, he's a little bit nasty. He's finished some blocks that are very, very impressive with how he does it, creating pancakes and knockbacks and things like that. I think that is probably also contributing to his stock rising.”
Off the field, Rocco calls Ware “a great kid.”
“Likable, fun kid to be around,” he continues. “He had an older brother that played here as well, two-parent family that is very supportive. His dad does some of the videoing for our program. They're just all-in type of people.”
It’s still early, but Ware’s interest in Notre Dame is obvious. After camping in South Bend over the summer, he’ll be back in town for Saturday night’s game against USC.
“Things are blowing up for him, and it's a lot to process for a 16-year-old kid,” says Rocco. “Clemson, Auburn, Notre Dame, all great schools and so right now, I think he's just enjoying the process. It hasn't really settled in yet as to the magnitude of a major decision like this. He's still just kind of in that honeymoon stage right now.
“But I'm sure he's very interested in Notre Dame as a top school in the whole process as things go along.”
