Notre Dame Still In It For Elite 2025 Defender Anthony Sacca

For much of the fall, Anthony Sacca‍ has kept his focus on his season with St. Joseph’s Prep, which has helped the Philadelphia powerhouse reach the PIAA Championship Game this Saturday night.

But the nature of being a truly elite national prospect means the 2025 linebacker/safety has been forced to pay at least some attention to recruiting as well.

“It's been going good,” Sacca said of recruiting recently. “It's been pretty subtle.”

He hasn’t made a habit of taking college tours or hitting a different college game each weekend.

One of the few visits Sacca made this fall was a trip out to South Bend for the Irish’s game against Ohio State back in September. 

The Irish came away from that visit feeling like they had a legitimate chance at landing the 6-foot-5, 195-pounder.

Following that trip, he made it out to Columbus to see the Buckeyes again.

“I took a visit out to Ohio State for the Ohio State versus Penn State game,” he said of his most recent visit. “It was fun. I enjoyed my time out in Columbus.”

He expects to get on the road again soon, but his primary focus is on Saturday night.

“Nothing's really set in stone until after the season,” said Sacca. “I've got nothing going on at least until the offseason. 

“I'll probably make it out to a couple of Junior Days at a couple places.”

Notre Dame is one place he’d like to return.

“If I have the opportunity, I would probably take my chance and get back out there,” he said.

In perhaps a good sign for the Irish, Sacca doesn’t have a list of items to further evaluate about Notre Dame or specific things to learn.

“Not really getting a better feel for it, just getting to sit down and talk with all the coaches again, would probably be my main thing.”

But for now, the main thing is Saturday night’s championship matchup with North Allegheny.
