Earlier this week, Owen Strebig‍ released his list of favorite schools, as expected.

The elite 2025 Wisconsin offensive lineman included Notre Dame on that list along with Wisconsin, USC, Michigan, Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Iowa, Miami, Missouri and UCF.

According to Strebig, focusing on a finite number of schools will make it easier for the 6-foot-8, 295-pounder to look at the pros and cons of each.

He plans on taking more visits this winter in an attempt to do just that, but so far, has only one trip set, to South Bend for the Irish’s Junior Day on Jan. 20th.

It’s clear Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and offensive line coach Joe Rudolph have made tremendously strong impressions on Strebig, who has already made multiple visits to South Bend, including for two games this fall alone.

Strebig has also formed close bonds with fellow Irish targets and commits alike. He was in conversation with Notre Dame’s newest 2025 commit, offensive lineman Will Black, prior to Black’s announcement. He’s also kept in contact with 2025 offensive lineman Matty Augustine, another top Irish target.

Despite taking another concrete step toward a final decision, Strebig still doesn’t have a timetable to make a commitment.

We weren’t sure how many schools would be on Strebig’s list when he released it, but we were confident the Irish would be included no matter how small the list and still feel very strong about Notre Dame’s chances at landing one of its top-of-the-board targets.
