Film Don't Lie | Owen Strebig
Everything starts up front and Notre Dame will not get to heights they want to reach without being great on the offensive line. That starts with recruiting and they are in the process of putting together a great class.
Notre Dame already has 2025 OL Will Black in the fold in this recruiting cycle and they just added a commitment from Owen Strebig. A coveted prospect by many of the top programs across the country, the Irish just added another monster to their O-line group.

National Average Grade: 91.9 (4-star)
What he does best:
Strebig moves extremely well for his size. He can pull and get out to linebackers at the second level.
He can bend naturally and plays with good leverage.
I thought his footwork greatly improved as a junior with him eliminating some false steps. He’s been well coached and does a great job of sustaining blocks.
What he needs to improve:
He’s big and wins because he’s big, but I don’t think he’s close to strong enough to compete at the college level yet. He doesn’t have enough functional power at the point of attack and needs to get a lot stronger.
I think it’s going to take some time for him to add the right weight and strength.
He can lean a bit in pass pro when he doesn’t have to. He’s long and can use that length better than he does now.
What’s his ceiling?
Strebig didn’t take the physical jump I thought he would from his sophomore to his junior year, but he remains an agile mover with a monstrous frame. Despite weighing over 290 pounds, he can still get a lot bigger and stronger. I think he’s going to look a lot different in a couple of years after being in Notre Dame’s strength and conditioning program.
Once that physical development happens, he has the potential to become a multi-year starter at tackle or guard. The player he most reminds me of is current Georgia OL Xavier Truss, another big body who moved really well in high school. He has started games at both guard and tackle at UGA, but it took some time to get there. He was second team All-SEC this past season.
The closest Notre Dame comp for me would be Tommy Kraemer, who played early at Notre Dame, but took some time for his strength to catch up to this size in college.
