On the eve of going public with his commitment to Notre Dame, Noah Grubbs‍ said he intended to become a de facto recruiting coordinator for the Irish’s 2026 recruiting class.

The 2026 Florida signal-caller is doing just that.

Prior to last week’s Grill And Chill, several visiting prospects mentioned having heard from the Irish’s 2026 quarterback commit in advance.

And, they heard plenty from Grubbs once they all got to South Bend last Thursday.

“I enjoyed every moment of it; laidback and not non-stressed because I'm committed,” Grubbs said of the visit. “That's where I want to go. It's where I want to be. That's the people I want to be around.

“Now that I get to try to bring people up with me, it's great. Obviously, there are many targets I'm going after out there and I want them to come be a part of the Irish with me.”

The laidback atmosphere allowed for Grubbs and the other recruits to get to know the Irish coaches on a different level.

“I think a couple of other targets we're going for got to know the coaches on a deeper level other than strictly football,” he said. “They got to see their personalities when they're playing games and when they're having fun. I think that's a great side to see as a recruit.”

Playing games was especially fun for Grubbs and his group, which included 2026 offensive linemen Tyler Merrill‍, Chancellor Barclay‍, 2026 tight end Gavin Mueller‍ and 2025 tight end commit James Flanigan‍.

“We all came together as a team,” Grubbs said. “They had us walk around through campus, but had games in between. They made it a fun walk around campus. We ended up on top. We had to finish the final thing to seal the win and we did it.

“It was just a great bonding experience with Tyler Merrill, one of the top o-line targets, Gavin, the tight end and Chance, who is actually from Orlando where I'm from. It was a great all-around moment with those guys. I love those guys and I can't wait to keep recruiting them to come to the Irish.”

Being in South Bend gave Grubbs plenty to work with as he made his pitches,

“When we were walking around campus, I was like, 'Just look around. There's no other place that's out there about just having fun right now,’” he recounted. “‘Everybody's out there strictly about football and Notre Dame is just different. The culture and everything about Notre Dame, all the way from what they have to offer after football. Not many teams could do that, if any.'

“Notre Dame has it all, they have football. The life after football is crazy, just the name Notre Dame can carry you along the way and you could go there, get a good degree and play good football. Like I said, not many schools can offer that, but Notre Dame. I was just telling Tyler that and Gavin and Chance. I hope they took that to another level and realized, they're going to eventually realize for sure.”

Grubbs went up with his brothers and was proud to arrive with them to show them his future home and family.

“Just an all-around great visit at Notre Dame,” he said.

Grubbs already has one return to South Bend set, but anticipates making it back more than that.

“I'm scheduled right now for November 9th, the FSU game. I assume I'll probably be up there for another game as well, but that's the only one that I have hotel scheduled and all that.”
