Kaydon Finley‍ has already been to Notre Dame three times and the 2026 Texas receiver will be back in South Bend again this month.

“I'll be there March 29th,” Finley says. “Just the connections with the people. I love getting up there.”

The son of former Packer tight end Jermichael Finley is familiar with the Midwest.

“I used to live in Green Bay, so it gives me that Midwestern/Green Bay feel,” Finley says. “I think that's what draws me back; just seeing the people one more time and having a good time with them really draws me back and just keep learning more and more about the culture. You can't learn enough about Notre Dame.”

Finley says he wants to learn more about “everything.”

“The history behind it all,” he says. “I think that's really what I'm coming back to see because it's a very historic place. I definitely want to learn more about the campus, about the college in general and about the football program and all that.”

Finley has been in communication with several Notre Dame staffers, including head coach Marcus Freeman, receivers coach Mike Brown, Director of Recruiting Carter Auman and general manager Mike Martin.

“Me and Notre Dame have a very tight relationship,” he says.

His relationship with Martin specifically is new, but off to a great start.

“I love him just based off one phone call,” Finley says. “He's a very smart football guy, I can hear it. He's very energetic too, so I think he can be a great general manager for Notre Dame. I like them a lot and I'm just ready to build a connection when I go back up there on the 29th.”

Finley also has March trips planned to Arizona State and Louisville.

“Right now, I'm scheduling all my spring visits and then scheduling my OVs,” he says. “I have a couple set right now, but I'm going to wait to release them.

“Right now, I'm just cutting down my list a little bit and then picking these OV dates and then we're going to go from there. I think a good timeline will be after all these OVs, before my senior season.”

Finley’s offer sheet includes Notre Dame along with schools like Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Georgia, Miami, Penn State, UCLA and Oregon among several others.

The competition is stiff, but the Irish appear to be in a very strong position.
