Notre Dame Continues To Make 2026 S Nick Reddish A Priority
Notre Dame sent a pair of coaches out to North Carolina last week to spend some time with 2026 safety target Nicholas Reddish.
“They stopped by to watch practice and then they came to my house for a home visit,” Reddish said of Irish defensive backs coach Mike Mickens and defensive backs assistant coach Jevaughn Codlin.
“It's a blessing knowing that they're still deep into my recruitment process, they're still showing so much love. Their first message when they came down to the school was the fact that I can go out to Notre Dame means that they should be able to come down here to show the real connection we've got.”
Reddish has made multiple trips to South Bend, most recently last month for an unofficial visit.
When Mickens and Codlin made the trip out to Independence High School, they hit on many of the same points they’ve been preaching for months.
“Really the opportunity and the networking Notre Dame serves,” Reddish said of the message from the Irish. “It can play a big part in your life in general, because football doesn't last long.”
It’s a message that Reddish is buying.
“I definitely am,” he said. “There's so much history behind Notre Dame. I still have a big decision to make soon. That plays a part in it. Time will tell.”
Reddish is scheduled to return to Notre Dame for an official next month.
“That's definitely going to be a fun experience,” he said. “I think this type of thing will be more of a fun experience rather than a serious, uptight one.”
He’s looking forward to meeting up with some current Irish commits and targets while in town for the official.
“I'm trying to see the culture of who I will be with if I do end up going there,” he said.
Reddish took an official visit to Indiana this past weekend and the Hoosiers made a real move.
“I had a great time there,” Reddish said of Bloomington. “It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was really fun. I could definitely see myself being down in Indiana too. It could be between the two schools down in Indiana.”
He’s also going to take official visits to Wisconsin and Virginia Tech, although a previously planned visit to North Carolina is in doubt right now.
The Irish remain “up there,” but Reddish isn’t quite ready to say they’re still alone at the top above Indiana.
“It's really a battle between those two right now.”
