Juggling multiple sports, especially a couple at a very high level, has shaped the way Titus Hawk‍ is approaching his recruitment and has also helped frame what he is trying to learn about Notre Dame as the process continues.

Hawk has had to balance playing basketball, baseball and football while being a national recruit in the latter two and the added reality that baseball introduces its own timelines and considerations.

That backdrop has made visits important, especially when it comes to identifying places that fit beyond one season or one sport, but also made planning those visits a little trickier given his busy schedule.

The 2027 Oklahoma tight end recently connected with Notre Dame assistant tight ends coach Harris Bivin during an in-person visit that reinforced steady communication between the two sides.

“It was pretty awesome,” Hawk said. “It means a lot for him to take time out of his whole process just to come see me, especially from that far away.”

Bivin’s approach has stood out from the start.

“I could tell that he cares about his players more than just himself,” Hawk said.

That stop followed multiple trips by Hawk to South Bend last year, including one where he brought his family along.

“It was pretty cool,” Hawk said. “It was awesome to have my family there with me.”

The Choctaw High School standout has already started thinking ahead to another return visit, even if the timing remains fluid.

“I think I’ll get back up there sometime,” Hawk said.

The 6-foot-7, 210-pounder will be less focused on surface-level impressions and more interested in how Notre Dame operates behind the scenes.

“I want to see how the players interact with the coaches and how they act in meetings,” Hawk said. “That’s the stuff that really matters to me.”

While football remains a primary focus of his recruitment, Hawk is also a high-level baseball prospect and is conscious of what that means long term.

He has spoken openly about looking for schools where he can play both sports, while also acknowledging the MLB Draft as part of the picture without letting it dictate his approach.

“I’m going to narrow my list down with places I could do both,” Hawk said. “And just places that are a great fit for me.

“I just try to give it my all whenever I’m playing one or the other. The rest will take care of itself.”

For now, Hawk’s emphasis is on education and preparation for life beyond athletics.

“Probably a place I can get a great education and a place that will set me up for stuff after ball is over,” Hawk said.

His offer sheet includes schools like Florida, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame among others.
