Notre Dame now has its answer at tight end in the Class of 2027 in the form of Titus Hawk‍.

The Oklahoma standout announced his commitment to the Irish on Monday, becoming the 14th verbal pledge in the class and the first, and potentially only, tight end in the group.

Hawk chose Notre Dame over offers from several schools, including programs like Florida, Oklahoma State, North Carolina and Vanderbilt.

The 6-foot-7, 210-pounder had been a priority target throughout the cycle and emerged as the clear top option at the position down the stretch.

Notre Dame had already laid the groundwork through multiple visits, including a return trip a of couple weeks ago, and was able to build on that foundation when it mattered most.

Hawk was interested in the Irish even before his recruitment began, and by the time he visited once, it was obvious Notre Dame could offer him what he was looking for.

“I thought it was awesome,” he said of the full package Notre Dame can offer. “I think it's great that when you come here, you also get a great education and you can get a great degree.

“It's not just football and getting to the next level. Obviously that's a goal, but that won't last you as long as all the other stuff will.”

Hawk’s path to this decision wasn’t typical because his recruitment never was.

The Choctaw High School product is a three-sport athlete with a schedule that includes football, basketball and baseball, which limited his ability to take many unofficial visits. That dynamic added a unique layer to his recruitment, but it also made the time he did spend on campus more meaningful.

There was another factor in play as well.

Hawk is an elite-level baseball prospect and could face a difficult decision if he is selected high enough in the MLB Draft. That reality has shaped his recruitment from the start, with several programs emphasizing two-sport opportunities.

Notre Dame leaned into its own track record of doing so.

The Irish have consistently shown a willingness to support multi-sport athletes, and that flexibility helped position the program as a strong fit for Hawk both on and off the field.

“I just try to give it my all whenever I’m playing one or the other,” Hawk told ISD of playing two sports. The rest will take care of itself.”

Notre Dame assistant tight ends coach Harris Bivin recruited Hawk relentlessly.

“I could tell that he cares about his players more than just himself,” Hawk said of Bivin.

His commitment gives Notre Dame a key piece on offense and adds to a growing group that includes offensive linemen Richie Flanigan and James Halter, running backs Isaiah Rogers and Lathan Whisenton, quarterback Wonderful Monds IV and receiver Jackson Coleman, who announced his pledge earlier in the day.

It also provides clarity at tight end.

With Hawk in the fold, Notre Dame has secured one of its top priorities at the position and strengthened an already impressive 2027 class.
