Official Visit Confirms Things For Notre Dame TE Commit Titus Hawk
Titus Hawk didn't need last weekend's official visit to convince him Notre Dame was the right place.
The 2027 Oklahoma tight end committed months ago because of what he believed the University could do for him beyond football. But after spending a couple more days around the people inside the program, he left South Bend even more confident in that decision.
"It was awesome, man," Hawk told Irish Sports Daily. "It was great."
The Choctaw High School standout spent the weekend alongside fellow Notre Dame commits, current players and coaches while getting a closer look at what life will be like once he arrives on campus.
"Just about everything," Hawk said when asked what he got to experience.
"We got the rundown of a bunch of stuff and how it's going to be when we're there."
One of the biggest takeaways was the opportunity to spend extended time with the rest of Notre Dame's 2027 recruiting class.
"It was awesome," Hawk said. "We bonded really well. We were trying to get to know each other so that way when we all come here, we're going to start off hot early."
Hawk also spent time with head coach Marcus Freeman, who reinforced his belief that the Irish are building something special with the 2027 class.
"He was just talking about how we all made the right choice," Hawk said.
The visit included additional time with offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock and assistant tight ends coach Harris Bivin as well.
"They were awesome," Hawk said. "We spent some good time together. Talked about football a little bit and then just life and priorities a lot more."
Those conversations reflected one of the biggest reasons Hawk chose Notre Dame in the first place.
"I would say it was probably just the coaches," Hawk said when asked what ultimately sold him on the Irish. "How much they talk about how you will be set up for success after football and they don't just talk football."
Hawk appreciated that Notre Dame's message extended beyond what happens on Saturdays.
"They talk about what comes after because it's going to obviously end at some point,” he said.
For Hawk, the official visit wasn't about deciding whether Notre Dame was the right fit. It was about confirming it.
And by the end of the weekend, he felt even better about the choice he made months ago.
