Ayden Hector‍ made the trip to South Bend Saturday and the 2020 Washington cornerback was impressed with everything he saw and liked the togetherness and tradition he felt walking around.

“We walked around the campus and athletic facility,” Hector explained. “I thought it was impressive, the weight room, film rooms, and the entire athletic building.

“The architecture was very cool. The students and community were friendly. The stadium was pretty cool, how it is on campus and how everything leads right into the stadium and involves the band. It is obvious there is a lot of tradition at Notre Dame.”

Recapping all the great experiences he saw, the 2020 prospect listed his favorite things while on the visit and what stuck out to him most, including a great post-game experience after a win.

“It was a very cool experience, the Leprechaun, cheers, the pre-game team walk, and the postgame in the locker room with cheering and Coach (Brian) Kelly talking to the team and celebrating the win,” listed the Washington native.

Seeing everything, watching the team play and walking around the Notre Dame campus was an amazing experience and the young cornerback broke down how he thought the Irish played and what he focused on most during the game.

“The team played well with the cold conditions and they played with a lot of energy and played together without panicking when they were down,” he said. “They came back with a score each time they lost the lead. I focused on the corners and DBs the most, they played well. I especially watched Julian Love, he played good. He had the pick-six and a bunch of PBU’s.”

The 6-foot-1, 183-pounder who has an early offer from USC also got to talk to a few coaches during his visit, which really capped off a very exciting weekend for the youngster. The Irish coaches left the Eastside Catholic standout with some encouraging words.

“I talked to Coach (Todd) Lyght and Coach (Brian) Polian,” he explained. “There were so many people at this game since it was another big game the coaches had a short time to talk, but Coach Lyght had good things to say and said he is watching me and they like my film.

“Coach Bill Rees and Coach Polian also really like what I am doing on the field and like my versatility on film.”

With interest heating up, the sophomore is interested in the Irish and will definitely keep in touch with Notre Dame, one coach specifically in the near future.

“Coach Polian and I will be in touch in the following week and he also wants to see me soon when they come to the West Coast when they play Stanford. They want to follow through on transcripts but have high interest once everything has been checked. It was a great experience and I look forward to keeping up with Notre Dame.”
