C'Bo Flemister Finds Perfect Fit With Notre Dame
The combination of athletics and academics at Notre Dame certainly impressed C'Bo Flemister, just as it does with just about all prospects who seriously consider the Irish, but it was something else that put things over the top for the 2018 Georgia running back, who signed with Notre Dame on National Signing Day Wednesday.
“Really, the people had a lot to do with it,” Flemister told Irish Sports Daily. “I feel like it’s a program full of great people.
“To add on to that, it’s a prestigious university that plays the top football in the nation. All of that in one just made Notre Dame perfect for me.”
The 5-foot-11, 192-pounder pointed to Notre Dame running backs coach Autry Denson as probably having “the biggest influence” on him.
“The biggest part to him was being my mentor,” Flemister said of Denson. “It wasn’t about being a coach or recruiting me. It was him mentoring me and helping me become a great man.”
Brian Kelly also made a strong impression on the Pike County High School star, who took an official visit to South Bend a couple weeks ago.
“I could just tell he’s so sincere and such a great guy,” Flemister said of the Irish head coach. “I can’t wait to be coached by him.”
Flemister had been committed to Georgia Tech since December after initially being pledged to Georgia Southern.
“It was a tough decision,” he explained. “It was a pretty tough process, but I’m confident I made the right decision. I’m positive I made the right decision at the end of the day.”
That knowledge may be what makes him the happiest right now.
“All I can say is I’m blessed. I’m blessed to have the opportunity and I’m blessed that I found the perfect spot for me.”
