Notre Dame has made its presence known in Texas in recent months and continued to push for top talent on Friday as 2020 Hebron safety Darius Snow‍ added an offer from the Irish.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder was pretty fired up to earn the offer as he knows not everyone gets an offer from Notre Dame.

“I was really excited,” Snow told Irish Sports Daily. “Schools like Notre Dame only offer the best of the best.”

Snow is the son of NBA great, Eric Snow, but he also has a connection to Notre Dame.

“I know a lot about the school,” said Snow. “My cousin, Braden Lenzy‍, is actually about to enroll and play football there next year.”

The two players check in time to time, but Snow expects to hear from his cousin much more in the near future.

“I imagine we’ll become much closer now that Notre Dame has offered,” laughed Snow. “The recruit is becoming the recruiter.”

The Irish could host the Texas native this summer as Snow is starting to plan out his schedule for the summer. Michigan State was his father’s alma mater and his uncle, Percy Snow, played linebacker for the Spartans, so look for Snow to also get to East Lansing.

“I’m planning to visit a few schools this summer, but I have set any official dates,” stated Snow. “I’m thinking about getting to Alabama, Georgia and Michigan State.”

Snow will also continue to work on his own game in hopes of becoming one of the best safeties in the class.

“My strengths would definitely have to be tackling and pursuit,” Snow said. “My coverage skills are something I know I have to get a lot better this offseason so I can become what I call ‘the whole package.’”

While a decision isn’t on his mind, Snow does know a few things he’s looking for in a program, but distance won’t be one of them.

“Academics are something I look for in a school,” said Snow. “There are also a few other key factors, but being able to compete for a starting spot as a freshman would have to be what I look for the most.

“At the end of the day, I’ll go to the school that’s best for me. If that school is outside of Texas, so be it.”
