The commitment of 2019 Nolan Catholic (Texas) defensive end NaNa Osafo-Mensah‍ was a statement by Notre Dame and Mike Elston as the Irish went into Texas and landed one of the top players in the state.

Notre Dame’s 2019 commits also deserve some credit as they did their part and were excited for Osafo-Mensah to make it official on Saturday.

Defensive Lineman Jacob Lacey‍: “I was the first defensive player to commit. “Then Hunter and Howard solidified the defensive line. NaNa will make us the best defensive line and defense in the nation for the 2019 recruiting class."

Defensive Lineman Hunter Spears‍: "This is extremely big for our class. He’s a baller and my brother. I can’t wait to team up with him. This defensive line class is gone be crucial in years to come."

Safety Litchfield Ajavon‍: “It means a lot for NaNa (King) to join the brotherhood at Notre Dame. He’s a really good player, and I believe together, our class can make a lot of things happen on and off the field. Let me be among the first to welcome King to #fightclub19 and THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME!”

Safety Kyle Hamilton‍: “I am really excited to get him on board! I know how great of a player he is and how a lot of schools wanted him, so this is big for us. I think we are creating a special group on both sides of the ball in this class.”

Offensive Lineman Andrew Kristofic‍: "Iron really does sharpen iron. It's exciting to add a player of his caliber to our already extremely talented class with Howard, Hunter and Jacob."
