Jayson Ademilola‍ committed to Notre Dame with his twin brother, Justin Ademilola‍, on June 26, 2016. Almost two years later, the Ademilola’s will arrive on campus to start their career.

“Everything is going well,” Jayson told Irish Sports Daily. “We’re just following the training packet Notre Dame sent us. My high school program has done a good job preparing us. Our training program has really helped me with the new training. There were some changes but not that much.

“The running is the hardest part. The new packet is a lot of running.”

The 6-foot-3, 288-pounder has gotten advice from a former Notre Dame player, Marquis Dickerson, who coached the twins at St. Peter’s Prep last fall.

“He told us what to expect and what to look for when we get there,” Ademilola stated. “He told us we’re going to learn a lot and to ask a lot of questions. Things will come to us, but we just have to learn.”

As one of the nation’s top defensive line prospects, Ademilola hasn’t stopped working to improve his game. The four-star prospect has continued to grow each part of his game before arriving in South Bend.

“I have been focused on improving every part of my game,” said Ademilola. “I need to get better in every aspect.”

Ademilola has also experienced a sense of excitement from his classmates as graduations wrap up.

“We’re all pretty excited and looking forward to graduation,” Ademilola said. “We’ll be there in a few weeks, so we’re ready to get going.

“It’s hit me a little bit. I’ve been out of school for a month, so the days have been going by super fast. I wake up, work out and the next thing you know, it’s the next day. It’s coming.”

The twins and defensive tackle signee Ja'mion Franklin‍ have kept in constant contact and have pushed each other during the last few months to come in as ready as possible.

“We have talked about getting better and seeing what we can do to contribute,” said Ademilola. “We have to get on campus and start working.”

Ademilola will miss the people in New Jersey and his community, but he’s also looking forward to experiencing what life is like inside Notre Dame Stadium on game day.

“I haven’t thought about it,” Ademilola said of running out of the tunnel. “I haven’t even been up to a Notre Dame game. I’m just excited about the game.”

Ademilola has been one of the most active recruiters in his class, and that won’t stop when he gets to campus as Notre Dame will host 2019 New Jersey defensive end Aeneas DiCosmo‍ a few days after the 2018 class arrives.

“I remember playing against him, and he’s a good player,” said Ademilola. “I’ve hit him up a few times, and he’s coming to visit in June, so I’ll be on campus, and I’ll get to see him.”
