High school football is in full swing. Here's the rundown of how Notre Dame's commits performed over the weekend.
2019 Commits
QB Brendon Clark (Manchester High School)
Manchester High School won a scrimmage 28-21 over Varina. Clark had a solid outing completing 13-of-18 passes for 113 yards and one touchdown. The Lancers will open the season at 7:00 PM against Riverbend.
RB Kyren Williams (St.John-Vianney High School)
Williams and his teammates at St. John-Vianney opened their season up at home against Fayetteville High School on Friday night. St. John-Vianney dropped their opening night game 51-28, but Williams had quite the night. The future Irish back scored all four of his team’s touchdowns in the contest, scoring rushing touchdowns from 14 and 53 yards and two receiving touchdowns from 75 and 66 yards.
WR Cam Hart (Our Lady of Good Counsel High School)
Hart and his teammates at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School opened their season up on Friday night against Marietta High School with a 40-28 win. Hart added a 58-yard touchdown reception in the big time win against a very talented Marietta team.
OL Quinn Carroll (Edina High School)
The first game is set for Thursday, August 30th at 7:00 PM against Lakeville South High School at home.
OL Zeke Correll (Anderson High School)
Correll helped lead Anderson High School to a close hard fought 34-25 week one win over Mt. Healthy. Anderson scored 20 unanswered points in the third quarter which deemed to be the difference in the contest. Correll helped his offense rack up 180 plus yards in the game-changing quarter.
OL Andrew Kristofic (Pine-Richland High School)
Kristofic and Pine-Richland High School opened their season up on Friday night against IMG Academy at home. Pine-Richland dropped the game in disappointing fashion 42-0, but Kristofic showed why he was special. The 6-foot-6, 260-pounder recorded a sack and a forced fumble on defense, but more importantly for Irish fans, he got some well-needed experience lining up at right tackle facing off against three FBS bound defensive lineman, Nolan Smith (Georgia), Eric Gregory (Arkansas) and Josh Griffis (Florida).
OL John Olmstead (St. Joseph High School)
The first game is set for Thursday, August 30th at 7:00 PM against North Brunswick High School on the road.
DE Howard Cross III (St. Joseph Regional High School)
First game is set for Saturday, September 1st at 7:00 PM against American Heritage High School at home.
DE NaNa Osafo-Mensah (Nolan Catholic High School)
The first game is set for Friday, August 31st at 7:00 PM against Kinkaid High School on the road.
DT Jacob Lacey (South Warren High School)
South Warren High School led by senior defensive tackle Jacob Lacey Is 2-0 after beating Hopkinsville High School week one 49-17 on their turf and handling Warren Central in their home opener 39-22 this past Saturday.
DT Hunter Spears Sachse High School)
First game is set for Friday, August 31st at 7:00 PM against Coppell High School on the road.
LB Ositadinma Ekwonu (Providence Day School)
Ekwonu and his team at Providence Day High School (0-2) dropped their week two contest to Ridge View High School 33-7 on Friday night. Ekwoku and company look to bounce back on the road against North Stanly High School on September 7th after a week three bye week.
LB Jack Kiser (Pioneer High School)
Kiser and his teammates at Pioneer High School stayed hot after a 44-0 win over Lewis Cass High School in week one with a dominating 76-0 victory over Winamac High School on Friday night. Kiser who is his team’s quarterback contributed offensively by scoring twice, once through the air and once on the ground for his team. The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder who is committed to the Irish to play linebacker accounted for many tackles and an interception in the contest and led his defense to the shutout.
CB KJ Wallace (Lovett School)
Wallace and company at Lovett High School fell to future teammate Kyle Hamilton in week two of his senior season 40-20 on the road. Wallace showed off his speed and versatility in the contest making plays at wide receiver, safety, cornerback and kick returner. The 5-foot-10, 187-pounder finished with several tackles on defense and receptions on offense in the loss.
S Litchfield Ajavon (Episcopal High School)
The first game is set for Saturday, September 15th at 7:00 PM on the road against Gilman High School.
S Kyle Hamilton (Marist High School)
Hamilton faced off against fellow 2019 commit KJ Wallace on Friday night. Hamilton and the rest of his Marist team handled Wallace and Lovett in an opening week 40-20 win on their home turf. The 6-foot-3 188-pound safety dazzled and dominated on both sides of the ball recording several tackles, an INT and a 62-yard touchdown.
P Jay Bramblett (Hillcrest High School)
Hillcrest opened their season up on Friday night with a 24-14 loss to Spain Park. Bramblett finished 13-of-21 for 122 yards and an interception.
2020 Commits
QB Drew Pyne (New Canaan High School)
First game is set for Saturday, September 8th at 1:30 PM on the road against St. Joseph High School.
TE Kevin Bauman (Red Bank Catholic High School)
First game is set for Friday, August 31st at 7:00 on the road against St. John-Vianney.
TE Michael Mayer (Covington Catholic)
Mayer and his teammates stayed hot in week two of their season with a 41-0 win over Henry Clay High School to move to 2-0 on the season. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder was dominant in the contest catching six passes for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
