It’s never too early to look at recruiting and 2021 Roger Bacon (Ohio) running back Corey Kiner‍ is a name to keep an eye on.

The 5-foot-10, 197-pounder took home GCL Player of the Year as a sophomore after rushing for 1,740 yard and 27 touchdowns, but also carried a 3.7 GPA.

Kiner has Notre Dame’s attention, and the Ohio native will be making a trip to South Bend this month.

“The Notre Dame staff contacted my coaches and set up a visit,” Kiner told Irish Sports Daily.”It was kind of a surprise. I wasn’t expecting Notre Dame to reach out. I’ll be up there for the Florida State game.”

The Roger Bacon star admits he doesn’t know much about Notre Dame, but he’s eager to learn more.

“I know about the tradition,” Kiner said. “I know a lot of people in Catholic school system like Notre Dame.

“I just want to see the football game. I’m looking forward to seeing the campus and having a good time.”

Notre Dame will be the third visit of the fall for Kiner as the top programs in Ohio will have hosted him by the time he gets to South Bend.

“I visited Ohio State for the Minnesota game,” stated Kiner. “I will be visiting Cincinnati this weekend, but I haven’t been anywhere else. The Ohio State visit was crazy. It was nice.”

While Kiner is a 2021 prospect, Cincinnati, Indiana and Kentucky have already extended offers, and he doesn’t plan on slowing down.

“My first offer was Kentucky. I was happy someone recognized the freshman year that I had. It motivates me more. I don’t want to stop until I have all the offers.”

As for his game on the field, Kiner credits his speed for his big numbers, and he’s looking forward to adding speed to his game over the offseason.

“I play fast, physical and you have to keep your eye on me every play because you never know when I might score,” explained Kiner. “My strength is my speed.

“I want to get a little bigger and way faster. I’m fast, but speed is my main focus. I want to be a better pass blocker, and that’s probably the most important thing right now.”

Kiner’s offer list is quickly going to grow, and it starts by getting to schools so they can size him up.

“A lot of schools want me to visit before they offer, which is hard because I can’t go everywhere,” said Kiner. “Michigan State and Pitt want me to come up.”
